Representative of Japanese ‘Bukkake’ culture, Stephanie is an interactive project that invites the participant to ‘souse’ (come) on the face of the doll using color mediums. The layers of medium dry leaving a history of the participants acts of sousing. The doll is left in a gallery or public space with the note ‘Please feel free to come on me’ along with color medium bottles. This piece debuted at the solo exhibition ‘LOVERO’ in Tokyo, Japan in 2005 and exhibited again at ‘The Shortest Night of the Year’ in the Mojave Desert in 2015 where video cameras sent real time images to a display in another room at the gallery.
